The X-Files-one of the best shows on TV.
Okay, so we all know The X-Files rules all the sci-fi shows out there(well, except for the new episodes, but don't EVEN get me started on that, or I'll never shut up!). The main reason I became a fan is because, week after week, the writers offered up intruiging story lines and kept me hooked. And I was amazed by the Dynamic Duo of Mulder and Scully(portrayed wonderfully by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson)and the wonderful relationship that they had. So, no offense to season eight, but I will only be covering the first seven seasons of the show, because, well, I don't want the new ones.

Beyond the Sea
My all time favorite episode, and I think this picture truly shows how well Mulder and Scully go together
  The Mythology
The X-Files has long been known for it's intricate mythology, which captivates it's viewers with it's incredible(and, let's face it, sometimes downright confusing)episodes. But it is that mythology storyline that has kept viewers so interested. The story of Mulder's sister, her abduction by unknown forces(whether it was alien or even possible just the US Government),and his father's involvement with it all. The story of Scully's abduction, also by unknown forces, which left her barren and unable to concieve a child. That story was complicated by her mysterious pregnancy at the end of season 7(Mulder was also abducted in the season finale), leading her to give birth in season 8 to William, son of her and Mulder. But Scully soon discovers that William also might be what's known as a supersoldier, created by the government for who-knows-what purpose(at least I don't know! If someone does, you can be ever so kind and fill me in!). In season 8, we were also introduced to Dogget and Reyes, whom, despite my dislike of Season 9, I find very great characters whom, sadly enough, I don't believe were used to their full potential in the current season.

The Mulder/Scully Dynamic
Now, no one(unless they are a really die-hard No-Romo, which is an X-Philes who believes Mulder and Scully should stay platonic)can deny that Mulder and Scully have an amazing relationship. They love each other, but past the point of lovers. The share a mutual respect for each other and their work, and the chemistry between those two is not only firey, but downright sexy. One of the things that first hooked me on The X-Files was the chemistry David and Gillian had(and still have) as Mulder and Scully. It was incredible, and kept me as hooked to the screen as the mythology did. So here's to Mulder and Scully, and their wonderful relationship!

The Standalone Episodes
They deserve recognition in their own right, because the job that is done on them is amazing. From an episode featuring a Frankenstein monster and Jerry Springer("The Post-Modern Prometheus)to a 300 year old liver eating mutant("Squeeze" and "Tooms"), X-Files never fails to shock you or make you laugh. My favorite stand alones include, along with the three listen above, "Bad Blood," "Darkness Falls," "Small Potatoes," "Arcadia," "Alpha," "Elegy," and "Leonard Betts."

The Good Ole Days!
Mulder and Scully sans season 1. Boy, don't they look young!

Mulder and Scully
From the episode "Milagro."
