Here are my favorite quotes from The Lord of the Rings, both the movie and the books.
Frodo: You're late.
Gandalf: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisly when he means to.
Frodo: He's up to something.
Gandalf: Oh, really?
Frodo: Alright, then, keep your secrets. You know, before you came along we Bagginses were very well thought of. Never had any adventures or did anything unexpected.
Gandalf: If you're referring to the incident with the dragon, I was barely involved. All I did was give your uncle a little nudge out of the door.
Bilbo: No, thank you! We don't want any visitors, well, wishers or distant relations!
Pippin: Done!
Merry: Sposed to stick it in the ground!
Pippin: It is in the ground!
Merry: Outside!
Pippin: This was your idea!!
Merry: That was good.
Pippin: Let's get another one!
Gandalf: Meriadoc Brandybuck. And Peregrin Took. I might've known.
Gandalf: Confoundit all, Samwise Gamgee! Have you been eaves dropping?
Sam: I haven't been droppin no eaves. I was just trimming the grass under the window there, if you follow me.
Gandalf: A little late for trimming the ferns, don't you think?
Sam: I heard raised voices...
Gandalf: What did you hear? Speak!
Sam: No..nothing important. Just something about a dark lord and a ring of power...please, Gandalf, don't hurt me! Don't turn me into anything..unnatural.
Gandalf: No? I suppose not. I think I have a better use for you.
Pippin: Frodo? Merry, it's Frodo Baggins!
Merry: Hello, Frodo!
Sam: Get off of him! What's the meaning of this?
Merry: Sam, hold these!
Sam: You've been in Farmer Maggott's crops again, haven't you?
Merry: Run! Don't know what the matter is, it's only a couple of carrots!
Pippin: And some cabbages! And those three bags of potatoes we lifted last week. And the mushrooms the week before!
Merry: Yes, Pippin! My point is, he's clearly overreacting!
Pippin: Baggins? Sure I know a Baggins! Frodo Baggins. He's over there! Frodo's my second cousin, once removed on his mother's side and my third cousin twice removed on his father's side, if you follow me.
